BOARD ON HUMAN SCIENCES (BoHS)

The Board on Human Sciences is one of the five constituent boards of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges' (NASULGC) Commission on Food, Environment, and Renewable Resources (CFERR).  The BoHS is an association of administrators of higher education units responsible for research/discovery, extension/outreach, and teaching/learning programs in the human sciences at state and land-grant universities across America.  Some of the diverse fields represented in human sciences include:

Consumer Finance

Food and Nutrition

Human Development and Family Studies

Interior Design

Textile and Apparel Studies

The mission of the Board on Human Sciences is to strengthen human sciences' research, outreach, and teaching institutions of higher education by:

positioning human sciences in higher education as vital to the advancement of knowledge critical to scoietal issues

supporting the development and stewardship of academic excellence

advocating for a sustained and enhanced funding to support human sciences research/discovery, teaching/learning, and outreach programs

The vision of the Board on Human Sciences is to advance learning, discovery, and engagement that reflect an appreciation of humans as biological, social, and cultural members of complex, scientific, economic, technological, and psychosocial systems.
